The Women’s Jewelry Association’s (WJA) 2015 Diva Design competition is based on the theme of ‘Transformation’ outlined for this year. The organisation has begun accepting submissions for the design competition, which has been categorised into two divisions - Gem Diva and DazzleDiva. The challenge is open to women with all levels of experience. The theme is to be interpreted as per the creative thought of the entrant, either literally or figuratively. The entrant is required to describe how the entry suits the theme. Each entry must either have a two-dimensional rendering of designs which are not so far created or photographs of actual jewels. Applications are to be submitted by October 3. The judging criteria would be based on the uniqueness and synchronisation with the theme.

The winner of each of the seven categories within the two Diva Design divisions would be awarded $250 and a trip to New York City to attend WJA’s annual “In The Spotlight” award reception, in March 2015.

The first division of the competition - Gem Diva is being conducted along with American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Awards, wherein women submitting pieces in the business/day wear, evening wear, bridal and classical design categories of the AGTA Spectrum Awards are eligible. The DazzleDiva division pertains to two-dimensional art only.
