Sarine has inaugurated a new GCAL by Sarine jewellery certification and quality assurance laboratory at the Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) in Mumbai, expanding its services for India’s jewellery manufacturing and export sector.
The new facility will provide jewellery certification services closer to manufacturers and exporters operating from SEEPZ, a major hub for the country’s gem and jewellery industry. Sarine said the Mumbai location is intended to improve accessibility and reduce logistical requirements for customers.
The facility complements GCAL by Sarine’s existing diamond-grading laboratory in Surat and its laboratory in New York, extending its coverage across key Indian production centres and supporting connections with the US market.
Angelo Palmieri, President, GCAL, said the SEEPZ facility expands the company’s capabilities in India from diamond grading into jewellery certification, while proximity and logistical efficiency have become increasingly important for retail, wholesale and manufacturing customers.
The Mumbai laboratory adds to Sarine’s wider Indian operations as the company expands its technology and certification services across the jewellery value chain.
