A seminar entitled ‘Dodd-Frank & Conflict Minerals: What it means for your gold and tungsten supply chains’, will be presented by Suzan Flamm, the senior counsel for the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC), at the JA New York summer show.

The seminar is slated on July 28.

According to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act, the publicly-held companies are required to report on the origins of the gold and tungsten they use, to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). And in order to do so, the companies are asking their suppliers detailed questions about the source of those minerals, and about the "due diligence" measures taken by suppliers to ensure a responsible supply chain.
