The date for general registeration for the 35th World Diamond Congress (WDC) is extended until 30 September, 2012, as the Congress organisers were approached by requests for more time to allow those interested in the Congress to prepare for their participation.

According to the new schedule, the general registration fee of $750, along with an accompanying person fee of $500, shall remain effective until September 30, beyond which a late fee of $100 shall be charged beginning October 1. Registerations will finally close on October 7.

The Congress is being slated in Mumbai and is being hosted by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB). Ronnie VanderLinden, the secretary general of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), expressed gratitude to the hosts for the time extension.
