ALROSAs 17th International Diamond Auction $23M

ALROSA reports selling about $23 million in rough diamonds during its 17th international diamond auction for special size stones at the Russian Diamond Chamber in Moscow. This auction was the sixth to date for 2006, and the total sale was the lowest year-to-date.

Of 131 offers, ALROSA sold 126. ALROSA offered some 16,000 carats or 893 diamonds, including 29 diamonds that weighed more than 50 carats each. The largest diamond on offer weighed 283.94 carats.

Companys international auction total for 2006 to date stands at $168 million. 2006 auctions: 17th = $23 million,16th = $28 million,15th = $29 million
14th = $35 million 13th = $27 million 12th = $26 million
The 18th international auction is scheduled for September 25.
