Ankit Gems Spreads its Wings to Botswana

The new factory not only supports the company’s growth plans, but also results in local beneficiation & value-addition for the host country

diamond world news service

Demand for diamonds manufactured by Ankit Gems has increased globally since last few years.

To accommodate this need & make provisions for future growth, they expanded their manufacturing capacity by opening a world-class diamond processing facility in Botswana, Gaborone.

Ankit Gems is already an accomplished beneficiator in Africa, having actively processed rough diamonds in Namibia for over 10 years. This, coupled with their manufacturing expertise gave them an edge, in achieving allocation from De Beers in Botswana, within a span of just few months of operations.

The new factory not only supports the company’s growth plans, but also results in local beneficiation & value-addition for the host country.

They have already taken 45 Botswana locals on board & devised a formal training program, which will ultimately empower them to manufacture the most exclusive diamonds, locally.

The underlying aim is to empower Botswana to do more than just mining & exporting diamonds, to gain maximum value through their human resource, resulting in their further integration & empowerment at all stages of the diamond value chain, thereby promoting collaborative growth for the company.
