The Gems and Jewellery Trade Council of India presented the collections by two National Institute of Design Graduates, Dhruv Singh and Avantika Kumar Agarwal. Dhruv Singh’s creations in precious and semi-precious stones culminated into the “Bijouterie” collection – a bridal collection. Paying tribute to the 21st century Maharani who longs to adorn herself with vintage pieces, the collection incorporated rows of pearls with a centre tassel combined with pearl drop earrings. A thin chain of diamonds teamed with spheres for the ears, a Raani Haar in gold with polkis, made part of the dramatic collection. Avantika Kumar Agarwal’s label “Aaraa by Avantika” offered handcrafted silver jewellery that has strong historic, cultural, artistic and craft influence. Avantika displayed the “Aaraa Signature Collection” inspired by the Lotus, which is the beloved flower of the country. The jewellery was designed in 92.5 per cent sterling silver with 22 K gold plating and encrusted with pearls and semi-precious gems. A gold chain with a triple ruby pendant, 3D scalloped kada, pearl lattice earrings, were eye-catching beauties on the catwalk. Taking the ramp proudly with both designers was Shantibhai Patel, President, The Gems and Jewellery Trade Council of India, which presented the scintillating show.
The Red Carpet ornaments by GDK Jewels presented intricately crafted neck pieces crafted with gemstones and diamonds. Jewelled collars, round cocktail rings, chokers with square shaped diamonds and emeralds insets, made much of an attraction on the stage. Giving bangles an interesting fashion twist was a plaited creation. Making a graceful show stopping entry was Bollywood rising star, Evelyn Sharma, wearing a choker-cum-cascading diamond necklace, bangles and matching danglers.
