Christie's will hold its Magnificent Jewels featuring The Azure Blue sale on 9 June at Rockefeller Center in New York, bringing together coloured diamonds, gemstones and jewels from several notable private collections.
Leading the auction is The Azure Blue, a 31.62-carat Fancy Blue diamond estimated at $6.5 million–8.5 million. The sale will also feature a 5.04-carat Fancy Vivid Blue marquise-modified brilliant-cut diamond carrying the same estimate range.
The auction includes jewellery by houses such as Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, David Webb and JAR. Claibourne Poindexter, Head of Jewelry, Americas at Christie’s, said the sale reflects “the depth of storytelling within the jewels themselves” and noted that the collections were assembled with “passion, discernment, and a true sense of personal style.”
Among the featured consignments is The Joanna Carson Collection: A Legacy of Glamour and Giving, with proceeds intended to benefit various charities. Key lots include a 15.92-carat diamond ring and eternity band ring estimated at $200,000–300,000, alongside emerald, ruby and sapphire jewellery.
Other collections include jewels from Lorinda Payson de Roulet, Irene Roosevelt Aitken, Agnes Gund and Bridget Rooney Koch. Highlights include a Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring estimated at $1.2 million–1.8 million, Burmese ruby jewellery by David Morris, and Art Deco pieces by Cartier and Tiffany & Co.
The sale will also include jewels from A Treasured History | The Stream Family Collection, including a 49.91-carat diamond ring and a Tiffany & Co. Art Deco emerald and diamond bracelet.
