The Sethunya diamond was recovered in 2021, while the Eva Star was discovered in 2023. Both diamonds originate from the South Lobe of the Karowe kimberlite, a site known for producing large, high-quality stones.

Lucara President and CEO William Lamb highlighted the mine’s unique geology, stating that Karowe continues to yield Type IIa diamonds of exceptional size and clarity. The company allocated $16 million from the sale proceeds to its Cost Overrun Reserve Account, as required under its Project Facility.

This sale reinforces Lucara’s position as a leading producer of large diamonds, reflecting continued strong demand in the luxury market.
