The All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) and IIM Ahmedabad continued their collaboration with the second edition of GemLead Focus, an executive masterclass designed to strengthen leadership and business capabilities within the gems and jewellery industry.
Held from August 31 to September 3, 2026, at the IIM Ahmedabad campus, the four-day residential programme brought together 92 jewellers, senior executives and next-generation industry leaders. The programme focused on practical learning across family business, leadership, strategy, growth and wealth management.
The curriculum covered areas including family business and scaling up, strategy and behaviour for growth, and valuation and wealth management. Faculty members from IIM Ahmedabad led the sessions, combining academic perspectives with practical business applications.
The programme also featured industry guest speakers Pankaj R. Patel, Chairman of Zydus Lifesciences, and Sandeep Engineer, Chairman and Managing Director of Astral Limited. They shared their business experiences and insights with the participating industry leaders.
GJC Chairman Rajesh Rokde said the initiative supported the development of the next generation of jewellery industry leaders and encouraged businesses to adopt innovation, global practices and structured approaches to growth.
GJC Vice Chairman Avinash Gupta said the programme focused on strengthening managerial capabilities and equipping industry leaders to address evolving business challenges.
Ketan Choksi, Convenor, GemLead, said the collaboration brought together GJC’s industry knowledge and IIM Ahmedabad’s academic expertise to provide participants with practical tools and insights for sustainable business growth and competitiveness.
GemLead Focus was positioned as an executive learning initiative for the gems and jewellery sector, with the programme providing industry participants with an opportunity to engage with leading academic and business perspectives while strengthening their leadership capabilities.
