During its Circle of Distinction dinner, held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, the American Gem Society (AGS) honoured three leaders in the jewelry industry.

Lee Berg, CEO of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, received the Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry throughout their career.

Doug Hucker, CEO of the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA), and Joel Schechter, CEO, HONORA, a Division of Richline Group, both received the Triple Zero Award, an honour bestowed upon members of the industry for their accomplishments and contributions.

“This amazing hotel had a tagline for many years, ‘nothing unimportant ever happens at the Plaza,’”said Ruth Batson, CEO of the American Gem Society and AGS Laboratories. “This event is no exception, because tonight is a celebration of excellence.” Ms. Batson added that the work and efforts of the three honorees has “left an indelible mark that will endure for years to come.”

The event took place on July 29.
