Alrosa auction of 21,300 ct totals $23 MN

Reportedly, Alrosa�s auction of special size diamonds weighing 21,300 carats, which was conducted together with the Russian Diamond Chamber on February 21st, realized a total of $23 million.

The parcels on offer contained 40 stones over 50 carats, the largest of which weighed 133.85 carats. For the very first time, diamonds from its joint stock company Alrosa-Nnyurba were included in the sale. The company�s next auction is scheduled for March 2007.
