Israel’s polished diamond exports drop 2% in H1

Imports of rough diamonds rise 3%

In the first half of 2013, Israel’s polished diamond exports dropped 2 percent (on y-o-y basis) to $3.233 billion, reports say. Polished diamond imports dipped 5 percent to $2.084 billion. The net polished exports (valued as excess of exports over imports), rose 4 percent to ‎‎$1.149 billion, reports say.

Rough diamond imports increased 3 percent to $2.037 billion and rough diamond exports rose 8 percent to $1.639 billion in the first six moths this year. The net rough imports, (valued as imports ‎less exports) decreased 15 percent to $398 million.

Israel’s net diamond account increased 19 percent to $751 million, reports say.
