A rare 25.50 carat blue diamond was sold by Petra Diamonds for $16,910,180, reports say. The diamonds was recovered from Petra’s Cullinan mine, reports add.

The company noted the diamond attracted highly competitive bids, owing to its rarity and the sale also reinforced the Cullinan mine’s capability as the world’s most important source of blue diamonds’.
