Christie's New York ‘Important Jewels’ sale coming up next month

The top lot at Christie's New York ‘Important Jewels’ sale slated for June 14, 2011, in Manhattan, will be a 46.51-carat, D, oval-cut diamond ring, with an estimated pre-sale value of $2.5 million to $3.5 million. The ring is part of the 120 lots chosen to be offered at the auction, with an overall pre-sale estimate ranging from $2,000 to $3.5 million.

The lots will include ‘statement jewels from the top jewelry houses, including Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, and Verdura’. Also to feature will be a selection of diamonds and gemstones, including large colored and colorless gems. Some of the pieces include a 10-carat, D, pear-shaped diamond (presale estimate - $1.1 million to $1.5 million), a yellow diamond ear pendant set with yellow diamonds mounted in platinum and gold (presale estimate of $600,000 to $800,000).

The overall sale is expected to generate over $8 million.
