India’s G&J exports in April rise by 95.41%

India’s exports of gems and jewellery in April 2010, increased 95.41 percent to US$ 2,564.37 million, as compared to US$ 1,312.30 million worth of exports in the same month last year. Exports of cut and polished diamonds amounted to US$ 1,941.88 million, rising 115.62 percent in April 2010, as compared to US$ 900.59 million in April 2009.

Gold jewellery exports in April 2010 stood at US$ 401.70 million, rising by 20.46 percent from US$ 333.46 million in April 2009. Coloured gemstone exports in April 2010 rose 9.20 percent to US$ 11.51 million, from US$ 10.54 million in April last year.
