A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between the Israeli Diamond Industry and the All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), in Jaipur. The signing ceremony was performed by Mr. C. Vinod Hayagriv, Chairman of the GJF and Mr. Eli Avidar, Managing Director of the IDI Group of Companies.

The MoU aims at both entities developing and promoting mutual relations, presenting areas of cooperation and undertaking dialogue in matters of mutual interest, reports say. The MoU states both entities would cooperate in examining areas of joint interests to safeguard the industry, an ongoing exchange of information for the benefit of the members of both organisations, an annual meeting to examine and plan the subjects on the agenda and joint educational efforts including seminars presented by both of the parties to the agreement. The MoU signing ceremony took place in December. Prior to this, the IDI had also signed an MoU with the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), for establishing areas of cooperation, reports say.
