diamond world news service

Diamond certification, jewellery, watch and silverware valuation are amongst the new services being offered at the world’s largest Assay Office – the Birmingham Assay Office. The organisation has been practicing its expertise in assessment of jewellery and precious metals for more than 235 years, covering various needs of manufacturers and the importers. Its services are also affiliated with large producers to operate safe hallmarking facilities at their operations.

Besides providing hallmarking and expert advice, the office also delivers background information on the markets and legal norms affecting production processes and changes to the hallmarking system, through its Communication Program. Its Laboratory services test if the jewellery price is safe for wearability and conforms to the legal norms, and also informs manufacturers about how to comply with all aspects of current legislation and provides facilities for testing their compliance.

Birmingham Assay Office is a not-for-profit organisation.
