Van Cleef & Arpels has introduced Fascinating Egypt, a new high jewellery collection inspired by the art, architecture and symbolism of ancient Egyptian civilization. Unveiled in Paris, the collection comprises approximately 180 creations and represents four years of research, design and craftsmanship by the maison.
Drawing from Egypt’s rich cultural heritage, the collection explores themes associated with pharaohs, pyramids, temples, sacred animals, hieroglyphics and the Nile. The pieces reinterpret these historical references through contemporary high jewellery techniques while maintaining a strong narrative focus, a hallmark of the maison’s creative approach.
The launch also reflects Van Cleef & Arpels’ longstanding relationship with Egyptian-inspired design. The maison first produced jewellery influenced by ancient Egypt during the 1920s, following the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922. Fascinating Egypt revisits this legacy, expanding on it through new gemstone combinations, intricate craftsmanship and large-scale thematic storytelling.
The collection is organized around several chapters that trace aspects of Egyptian history and mythology. Designs incorporate motifs such as lotus flowers, scarabs, winged figures and architectural elements reminiscent of ancient monuments. A variety of coloured gemstones, diamonds and ornamental stones are featured across necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and transformable jewellery pieces.
For the luxury jewellery sector, the collection highlights the continued importance of heritage-driven storytelling in high jewellery. Major maisons increasingly draw on historical and cultural narratives to create distinctive collections that resonate with collectors seeking both craftsmanship and artistic significance.
The unveiling of Fascinating Egypt further reinforces the role of high jewellery as a platform for creative expression and cultural interpretation, while underscoring Van Cleef & Arpels’ position in the global luxury jewellery market. The collection is expected to be showcased across key international markets through a series of exclusive presentations and client events.
