JCK – New Delhi – low key response

diamond world news service

The JCK – New Delhi show took off recently in the country’s capital, on a rather low key response. The first two days saw a small attendance, quite like the JCK Las Vegas that took place in May.

The third day of the five-day show brought in some respite for exhibitors as attendance was slightly higher. This was due to the third day falling on a Monday – holiday at Koral Bagh, allowing more retailers to visit the show.

Yet the exhibitors were of the opinion that the show was not well times, as it almost coincided with the forthcoming IIJS 2008, which could have led to buyers ignoring the JCK – Las Vegas. Also, they felt the crowd should have been more filtered. The business for loose diamonds, fine jewellery, designer jewellery got good queries, received a favouarble response, while colourstones had to catch up.
