Gitanjali Gems Ltd. has ventured into infrastructure development for retail, which further adds thrust to its speedy penetration into retail. Through its fully-owned subsidiary Gitanjali Infratech Ltd., a company that deals in infrastructure project management, Gitanjali Gems has created a new company solely for the purpose of mall development - Kolkata Axis Mall Ltd.

One of its other infrastructure venture was creating a SPV- West Bengal SEZ Ltd., to develop India’s SEZs.
