The second day of the Indo-US Buyer Seller Meet held at Renaissance Convention Centre and Hotel Mumbai saw prominent US retailers address select sections of the media as they narrated their unique experiences. Representatives from organizations like Ben Bridge, Gem-Water and Roberson’s Fine Jewelry were present along with GJEPC Vice Chairman, Colin Shah.

Colin Shah said, “At this edition of the Buyer Seller Meet, 23 Indian companies and 35 American buyers have come together. Our aim is to help grow Indian exports to US from the exisiting $2 billion and this BSM is a step in the correct direction.”

Peter Luplow of Ben Bridge commented, “It has been a good experience for us as about 3/4th of the jewellery on display can be used in the American market. We primarily deal in fine gold jewellery with coloured gemstones and diamonds. India has been a great place to source both diamonds as well as coloured gemstones for our pieces. We are also looking at Jaipur for our coloured gemstones requirements as it is the hub for the same.

Los Angeles based Gem-Water specializes in reusable crystal straws and various other crystals that have healing properties. Founder Anjanette Sinesio shared, “India presents a great opportunity for us as it is rich in crystals and gemstones that we use in our products. We use a lot of silver in our products and have managed to connect with vendors who have been extremely proactive by creating prototypes for us. I am grateful to GJEPC for putting us in touch with reputed vendors who we can trust.”

Trish Roberson of Roberson’s Fine Jewelry added, “We plan to visit certain manufacturing units so that we can understand their products and manufacturing processes.”
