Timex forays into jewellery, luxury segment

Renames itself as Timex Group India Ltd.

Timex Watches Ltd., is planning its foray into the jewellery segment, as part of its diversification from being just a watch manufacturing company. This has affected it to rename itself as Timex Group India Ltd., which will include its watch business along with the new venture into jewellery and luxury lifestyle

According to Timex India managing director Kapil Kapoor, “The restructuring that accompanies this name change will see us move closer to our ambition of becoming a leader in the lifestyle space in the country.” The group has also acquired global licences for elite fashion brands like Guess, Nautica and Marc Ecko, and luxury brands like Versace, Valentino and Ferragamo.
