GJEPC announces Gold Summit; To be held in New Delhi in December

With an objective of bringing all jewellery manufacturers, stakeholders and other personals under one umbrella to gain knowledge about defining the policy that can bring in transparency in gold & consequently the jewellery business in India, the ‘India Gold & Jewellery Summit’ will be held in New Delhi this December this year.

India, being one of the biggest consumers of gold, this summit is definitely a welcome initiative. It will also be a platform where jewellers can learn from other countries like UK, Turkey and China about the kind of obstacles and challenges they face in their jewellery industry.

Tentative speakers at the summit will include the likes of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Commerce & Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu, RBI Governor Urjit Patel and more. Hallmarking, PMLA, GST and jewellery manufacturing trends will be a few topics discussed among others.

Also, one of the key areas of focus in this summit would be to discuss ways in which India can become one of the biggest exporters of jewellery in the world and generate 8 million employment by the year 2025.
