DTC sales director Des Cavanagh to retire soon: Varda Shine

In a recent announcement made by DTC managing director, Varda Shine, DTC sales director, Des Cavanagh, would be retiring at the end of September 2007.

Cavanagh had spent a total of 30 years with the DTC.

Cavanagh joined the firm in 1977 as a diamond sorter and valuer and held various positions within the firm including diamond buyer in Central Africa, senior sales executive, diamond consultant in South Africa, personal assistant to the DTC managing director and managing director of the Diamdel group.

He was appointed executive director of purchasing in July 2004. From there he took up the position of DTC sales director.
