European jewellery and watch makers have been concisely grouped together in an online directory - The European Jewellers Directory (EJD). This initiative has been promoted by the Jewellers of Europe. According to Filip Van Laere, the founder and chief executive of the Jewellers of Europe, the region holds immense potential as there are 50% more consumers for such products in Europe than in the United States. And to cater to them there are 100,000 jewellers across Europe but few have been able to target them.

An individual has over 60,000 retailers to choose from categories like independents (90%) retail chains (9%) and boutiques (1%). The initial listings will only feature retailers from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and United Kingdom. The database can be sourced directly on EJD’s website, www.jewellersdirectory.eu.
