diamond world news service

A fire was reported in the office of Ankit Gems on the sixth floor in the D West wing of the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in Mumbai, on 26th January 2017. The cause of fire is still being investigated.

The fire was reported around 2.30 pm. The BDB’s own fire response team and the fire brigade were able to put the fire out around 5.30 pm. There were no casualties or injuries reported as the offices were closed on account of the Republic Day holiday.

Our attempts to contact the company spokesperson were met with a message as mentioned below:

“Please be informed that there was a small fire at our office today and some of our furniture and fixtures has been damaged. It is not a matter of great worry.

We will be resuming out normal operations from tomorrow.

Please do not worry and ignore any exaggerated messages. We thank you for your concern and good wishes.

Regards,

Arun Shah, Ankit Shah, Parva Shah
