Maples – Trump engagement ring up for auction

The Maples - Trump Harry Winston diamond engagement ring, is being placed on auction by estate jewelry auctioneer Joseph DuMouchelle. The ring will sell for the second time. The auction is slated in New York, reports say. The emerald-cut diamond ring is of 7.45-carats and is expected to sell for US$300,000.

The ring was given by Donald Trump, in 1991to Dancing With the Stars contestant Marla Maples, as per reports, while proposing to her. The couple divorced in 1999, after which Maples approached Joseph DuMouchelle to auction the ring. The buyer has approached Joseph DuMouchelle again to sell the ring at auction.

The auction house notes that the ring carries many ‘levels of provenance’ and ‘has it all’. The auction also will offer heirlooms of investment quality, as per the auction house, reports say.
