Nobel Prize winner Professor Dan Shechtman to be guest of honor at IDW

Professor Dan Shechtman is also winner of Israel Prize for physics

Winner of the Nobel Prize in 2011 and the Israel Prize for physics in 1998, Professor Dan Shechtman will attend The International Diamond Week in Israel as guest of honor. The event is slated at the Israel Diamond Exchange from February 14-18 February 2016.

Shechtman studied material structure and was awarded the accolades for his research that discovered and defined a new natural crystalline structure. Shechtman heads the Wolfson Research Center, an also serves as a professor at Iowa State University, is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences, a member of the National Academy of engineering of the United States and a member of the European Academy of Sciences. In 2011, he served as judge in Israel Prize Selection Committee, as per reports.
