One of the highlights of the 20th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival will be a unique piece of jewellery – the 'Dubai Celebra-tion Chain' being crafted at Joyalukkas Jewellery Factory in collaboration with Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group.

The inspiration behind this piece is to incorporate the spirit of Dubai, as will also be seen at Shopping Festival. The jewellery is envisaged as a 5 km long gold chain of around 180 kgs, handmade by over 100 craftsmen.

The chain will later be segmented into bracelets and smaller chains for locals and visitors to the Shopping Festival to own a piece of this ‘spirit of Dubai’. Along with every purchase made, the buyer will also be given the opportunity to win 100 kg gold and 40 carat diamonds during the Dubai Shopping Festival period. The historic chain on completion will be displayed at a public place for certification by the 'Guinness World Records' and for the people to view.

"Dubai is the City of Gold and the jewellery destination of the world. We feel extremely privileged to contribute to an initiative that will help reinforce this status,' said John Paul Joy Alukkas, Executive Director, Joyalukkas Group. The 22-carat record breaking gold chain has been aptly branded as 'Dubai Celebration Chain', to compliment the DSF theme: 20th Anniversary — A Journey of Celebrations.
