DTC Botswana convenes first meeting

De Beers aims to reach $550 million of rough sales

DTC Botswana conducted its very first meeting since its inception in the first week of September. De Beers mentioned its highly optimistic projections of targeting to sell $550 million dollars of rough diamonds by the end of the century.

According to De Beers Managing Director Gareth Penny, "The creation of DTC Botswana is a major milestone in the history of the international diamond industry." DTC Botswana is expected to have its operations valued in excess of 36 million carats a year.
