Diamond industry congratulates Maharashtra’s new Chief Minister

The Indian state of Maharashtra welcomed its new Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, who was sworn in on 31st October, at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The grand affair saw an attendance of around 5000 VVIPs from different fields, who were invited - Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, political heads, leading personalities from the gem and jewellery industry including Mr. Ashok Gajera, Managing Director of Laxmi Diamond Group, Mr. Arunbhai Shah of Ankit Gems, Vipulbhai Shah of Asian Star, Bharatbhai Shah of B Vijaykumar, and other industrialists, Bollywood personalities.

The stadium, hosting the first open air oath-taking ceremony, was declared a no flying zone, Around 2,500 security personnel were deployed and 1100 traffic police monitored smooth flow of traffic. Nitin Desai, Bollywood Set Designer converted the venue to reflect the ancient and modern Maharashtra, spoken through monuments, heritage, colour and grandeur. 34,000 well wishers thronged the venue to see their favourite leader take oath - a historic moment for BJP.
