Alrosa holds 24 international diamond auction

Diamonds earn $38.4 million in sales

The 24th international diamond auction of Alrosa was held on September 18 in Moscow, co-organised by the Diamond Chamber of Russia. Participants included 40 companies from Russia, Israel, Belgium, India, Lebanon, Belarus and the US. At the auction, 1,021 stones of over 17,000 carats weight earned $38.4 million in their sales. The stones were categorised into 131 slots with 12 stones in the above 50 carat slot in which the largest stone was of 229.11 carats. Alrosa mentioned that it would begin preparations for the next auction on September 25, 2007.
