The event, held in Luanda, saw strong participation from buyers, despite ongoing challenges in the global diamond market.

TAGS reported high demand for the diamonds, noting a particularly positive response from buyers in Angola’s capital. The latest sale closely follows a July tender where 45 stones, including a notable 14-carat pink diamond, fetched a total of $21.6 million.

At the recent event, 44 diamonds weighing over 10.8 carats were offered, with only two remaining unsold. Among the highlights were two diamonds weighing over 175 carats, reflecting the continued interest in larger stones despite market conditions.

Anthony Peter, founder and director of TAGS, commented on the success of the collaboration, stating, “The partnership continues to underscore the benefits of presenting rough diamonds through a transparent tender process. Both buyers and mining companies appreciate the competitive outcomes that such a system delivers."

TAGS and Sodiam’s ongoing cooperation reaffirms the value of an open and competitive diamond market, as it provides greater opportunities for both sellers and buyers, while driving positive results in a fluctuating global economy.
