US-based luxury watch and jewellery house Jacob & Co. has unveiled a new iteration of its Billionaire timepiece, introducing a proprietary diamond cut as part of its 40th anniversary launches.
The Billionaire Double Tourbillon is the first watch to feature the brand’s newly patented ‘Angel Cut’ — a 37-facet diamond cut developed in-house to enhance brilliance and light performance. The innovation represents a continuation of Jacob & Co.’s strategy of integrating gemmological advancements within high watchmaking.
Positioned at the intersection of haute horlogerie and high jewellery, the timepiece combines the new diamond cut with a double tourbillon movement, reinforcing the brand’s focus on technical spectacle alongside gemstone-led design. The watch is priced at approximately $3.4 million and is produced as a limited edition, consistent with the exclusivity of the Billionaire collection.
The Billionaire line has historically served as a platform for Jacob & Co.’s most complex and gem-intensive creations, often incorporating large, high-clarity diamonds in unconventional settings. Earlier editions have featured hundreds of emerald-cut diamonds totalling over 100 carats, underscoring the collection’s positioning at the ultra-high-end of the market.
With the introduction of the Angel Cut, the brand adds a proprietary diamond format to its portfolio, aligning with a broader industry trend of jewellers developing signature cuts to differentiate design identity and reinforce brand equity.
The launch highlights the growing convergence between high jewellery and watchmaking, where innovation in diamond cutting, craftsmanship and mechanical complications is increasingly used to create distinct, collectible pieces for ultra-high-net-worth clients.
