Raluca Anghel, head of external affairs and industry relations at The Diamond Collective, is stepping down from the organisation after seven years. Her departure was announced in a LinkedIn post, according to a report by Rapaport published on October 21, 2026. She has not disclosed her next role.

Anghel joined the organisation when it operated as the Natural Diamond Council (NDC). During her tenure, she led the ASSURE programme, which evaluates the performance of diamond-verification instruments, and introduced a series of reports aimed at providing the media and jewellery trade with evidence-based information about diamonds.

Her work also included efforts to develop legislative frameworks and industry standards for diamond representation, with the objective of supporting accurate consumer information. She worked with colleagues and industry partners on investigations into advertising claims in key markets, including the United States, India and Europe.

Anghel represented the organisation at the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and the European Federation of Jewellery, engaging with industry stakeholders on standards and issues affecting the jewellery sector.

Her exit comes less than a month after the NDC relaunched as The Diamond Collective on September 22, 2026, introducing a new strategy focused on strengthening consumer confidence, building demand for natural diamonds and increasing collaboration across the diamond value chain.

The organisation has outlined plans to expand industry participation and develop initiatives around consumer trust, terminology and digital discovery as part of its revised strategy.
