For over a decade, the Gübelin Academy has been a beacon of knowledge and passion for coloured gemstones. Catering to both gemstone enthusiasts and industry professionals, the academy offers an insightful introduction to the mesmerising world of gemstones through a modular program that culminates in the prestigious Coloured Gem Professional diploma. This educational journey begins with Level 1, the foundational cornerstone of the program.

Level 1 Course: An Immersive Experience

The Level 1 course is a two-day immersive experience that delves into the gemological and historical basics of the "Big Three" gemstones: rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Participants explore essential assessment criteria, as well as the value, history, gemology, and psychology of these precious stones. The course covers key gemological properties and the emotional allure of coloured gemstones. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate of attendance, marking their initiation into the fascinating world of gemstones.

New York: A Historic Bond

Raphael Gübelin, President of the House of Gübelin, highlights the longstanding connection with New York: "Our family-owned company has cherished a close bond with New York since the 1920s. I am thrilled that the Academy offers its inspiring courses here and collaborates with the Gem Lab." In 2017, the esteemed Gübelin Gem Lab established a permanent laboratory in New York to meet the growing demand for gemological services in the US. Located in the heart of Manhattan at 608 Fifth Avenue, the lab provides scientific analysis of all types of gemstones. The Level 1 course will be hosted at this premier location.

New York is gearing up for a significant event this fall as the Gübelin Academy brings its world-class courses to Manhattan. The highly anticipated Level 1 course is scheduled to take place on September 9th and 10th, 2024.
