Cindy Chao has introduced her latest Black Label Masterpiece, continuing her exploration of nature as a central design narrative in high jewellery. The new brooch translates themes of decay, regeneration and resilience into a sculptural form, underscoring Chao’s philosophy of jewellery as wearable art.

The piece takes inspiration from a fallen leaf transforming into new growth, symbolizing nature’s cyclical rhythms. Crafted using a titanium structure — a signature material in Chao’s Black Label works — the brooch allows for lightness, durability and layered three-dimensionality. The design is accented with diamonds and emeralds, chosen to emphasize contrast between rigidity and fluidity, strength and renewal.

According to the brand, the brooch incorporates more than 4,000 gemstones, with meticulous attention paid to colour gradation, gemstone placement and movement, reflecting Chao’s architectural approach to jewellery-making. Each Black Label creation is produced as a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, requiring thousands of hours of craftsmanship.

The Black Label Collection represents the pinnacle of Cindy Chao’s artistic output and has played a significant role in positioning her jewellery within a fine art context. Previous works from the brand have entered the permanent collections of leading international museums, including the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

With this latest release, Cindy Chao further strengthens her standing in the ultra-high jewellery segment, where conceptual depth, technical complexity and limited availability are increasingly key drivers of collector interest.
