Christie’s will showcase a selection of rare diamond earrings and high-jewellery creations at its upcoming Magnificent Jewels Spring Auction in Hong Kong on May 26, as auction houses continue to report resilient demand for exceptional gemstones in Asia.
The sale forms part of Christie’s Hong Kong Luxury Week Spring 2026 and will feature more than 100 jewellery lots, including colourless and coloured diamonds, jadeite, sapphires, rubies and signed jewels from international luxury houses. Christie’s said the offering reflects sustained collector interest in rare gemstones and investment-grade jewellery across the region.
Among the highlights are important diamond earrings alongside coloured gemstone jewels led by Kashmir sapphires, Burmese rubies and Colombian emeralds. Christie’s noted that demand for rare jewels remains strong among Asian collectors, particularly for pieces combining provenance, rarity and high craftsmanship standards.
Hong Kong’s jewellery auction market has shown continued momentum following strong 2025 results across major auction houses. Christie’s reported that its autumn Magnificent Jewels sale last year achieved HK$538.13 million, marking its highest Hong Kong autumn jewellery sale since 2017.
Industry observers say the continued performance of high-jewellery auctions indicates sustained appetite for rare diamonds and collectible jewellery among ultra-high-net-worth buyers, despite broader global economic uncertainty.
