French jewellery maison Chaumet has unveiled A Journey Through Nature, its latest High Jewellery collection, during Paris Haute Couture Week. Presented at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay near Paris, the collection continues the house's enduring dialogue with the natural world, a creative theme that has shaped its jewellery since its founding in 1780.
The collection comprises 46 one-of-a-kind High Jewellery creations, organized into themed chapters that interpret nature through flowers, foliage, spices and landscapes. Drawing inspiration from botanical forms and changing natural environments, the pieces explore the maison's signature aesthetic while incorporating contemporary craftsmanship and gemstone-setting techniques.
Exceptional coloured gemstones play a central role throughout the collection. Necklaces, earrings, rings and brooches feature diamonds alongside emeralds, sapphires, opals, spinels and other rare gemstones selected to recreate the colours and textures of the natural world. The collection also incorporates sculptural settings and intricate metalwork to reflect leaves, petals and organic forms.
Several of the creations required more than 1,000 hours of craftsmanship, underlining the technical complexity involved in their production. One of the standout pieces, inspired by the vanilla flower, reportedly required over 1,350 hours to complete, demonstrating the maison's emphasis on artisanal savoir-faire and hand-crafted execution.
The launch reinforces Chaumet's long-standing expertise in nature-inspired High Jewellery, an area that has remained central to the maison's identity for more than two centuries. Beyond its creative direction, A Journey Through Nature reflects the continued prominence of coloured gemstones, narrative-led collections and exceptional craftsmanship within the global High Jewellery market, themes that were evident across several launches during this season's Paris Haute Couture Week.
