The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the London Diamond Bourse (LDB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two diamond trading centres and expanding opportunities for their respective members. Announced on July 8, 2026, the agreement establishes a framework for closer collaboration across the international diamond and gemstone trade.
The partnership focuses on promoting responsible trading, creating new commercial opportunities, facilitating knowledge exchange and strengthening engagement between members of both bourses. It also provides a platform for dialogue on issues affecting the global diamond industry as trading centres adapt to an increasingly interconnected marketplace.
The MoU was signed by Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange, and Charlotte Rose, President of the London Diamond Bourse. It marks the first international partnership signed under Rose's presidency, which began in June 2026.
Commenting on the agreement, Bin Sulayem said the Dubai Diamond Exchange was founded on the principle that connecting markets creates opportunity. He noted that stronger collaboration between major trading centres would help establish a more resilient network built on shared expertise, recognized standards and greater confidence across the global diamond trade.
Rose said the London Diamond Bourse views the Dubai Diamond Exchange as an ideal partner for its first international agreement under her leadership. She added that both organizations, as members of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), share a commitment to trusted and well-governed trading, with the partnership expected to deliver practical benefits for members of both exchanges.
Established in 2004, the Dubai Diamond Exchange is the only WFDB-affiliated bourse in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The new agreement reflects growing efforts by leading diamond trading hubs to strengthen international cooperation and reinforce industry connectivity through strategic partnerships.
