Sotheby’s is set to open its autumn auction season in the French capital with the highly anticipated Fine Jewellery sale on September 30, as part of its prestigious Luxury Week. The event will present 269 lots featuring exceptional creations from iconic houses such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Bulgari, Graff, and others, offering collectors a glimpse of both historic craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Leading the auction is a Cartier ring set with an extraordinary 18.25-carat cushion-shaped unheated Burmese sapphire of vivid “royal blue” colour, flanked by brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds. Estimated between €400,000 and €600,000 ($468,000 – $702,000), the jewel highlights Cartier’s long-standing mastery in coloured gemstones.

Another showstopper from Cartier is the Panthère bangle in gold and platinum, adorned with sapphire spots, pavé-set diamonds, emerald eyes, and an onyx nose—estimated at €200,000 – €300,000 ($234,000 – $351,000). The sale also includes Cartier’s diamond double clips and necklace set, expected to fetch up to €150,000.

Among unsigned treasures, a platinum ring mounted with a rare 10.68-carat unheated Kashmir sapphire, accompanied by triangular diamond shoulders, carries an estimate of €220,000 – €280,000.

International highlights include Graff’s pair of fancy intense yellow diamond earrings, weighing 6.53 and 7.04 carats respectively, with an estimate of €180,000 – €280,000, and a 4.03-carat fancy pink diamond pendant on gold, projected between €180,000 and €240,000.

Adding intrigue to the sale, Boucheron presents a diamond and sapphire bracelet with a hidden watch—an elegant marriage of jewellery and horology—estimated at €40,000 – €80,000. A “Toi et Moi” ring by Faraone, featuring a Colombian sapphire and a Kashmir emerald alongside triangular diamonds, is also among the standout pieces.

The live auction will unfold in two sessions at Sotheby’s new Paris headquarters on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, with online bidding already underway. The sale is expected to draw international collectors eager to acquire rare jewels that embody both heritage and modern elegance.
