The expanded capacity will generate around 1.12 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, cutting an estimated 944 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. With this upgrade, solar energy will now account for nearly 75% of the company’s total operational energy needs, up from 50%.

Priyansh Shah, Director, Ankit Gems, said, “The increase in our solar capacity is a step forward in our commitment to responsible manufacturing. It not only reduces our environmental footprint but also strengthens our long-term energy resilience,”

The Surat facility has steadily integrated renewable energy and green building practices over the years, positioning Ankit Gems among the few large-scale diamond manufacturers prioritising sustainability at scale. The latest expansion reflects a wider industry trend, where cleaner production and environmental stewardship are becoming central to operational strategies.
