GIA hosts ‘Diamond Secrets’ seminar for Women’s Forum of Surat

GIA (Gemological Institute of America) recently undertook to making members of the Palanpuri Samaj Kendra (PSK) – Women’s Forum, more familiar and abreast with the diamond. For this, it organised a seminar - “Diamond Secrets”, which was attended by around 40 members of Forum from Surat, and also arranged for the group to participate in special behind-the-scenes tour of GIA’s diamond grading laboratory in Mumbai.

The seminar highlighted diamond characteristics, origins, the history of famous diamonds. Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and the Middle East also shed light on how GIA education, grading and research help protect consumers and members of the trade.

“It’s a pleasure to host this discerning group of diamond lovers. My hope is that the insights into the world of diamonds they gained today will help them as consumers, entrepreneurs or enthusiasts. GIA looks forward to hosting more such groups from the Palanpuri Samaj,” said Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and the Middle East, as she welcomed the guests. The PSK Women’s Forum is a platform for Palanpuri women of all ages to come together and express themselves and share views on various subjects through, lectures, workshops and field trips.
