Stornoways CEO Eira Thomas predicted a slump in the supply of rough diamonds and an increase in the demand for diamond jewellery, while speaking at the Third International Rough Diamond Conference. Thomas also analysed how mining in Canada can address this possible gap. We agree with the prediction of WWW, according to which in the foreseeable future rough production will remain at the current level while demand for diamonds will rise significantly.
Thomas identified mining in Canada as important. There has been less prospecting there than in other countries and there is no doubt as to its political and financial stability. We believe that Stornoway offers business opportunities and is at the right place at the right time.
