Blue Nile’s net sales up 10.1% in Q3

At the close of its third quarter ending September 29, 2013, Blue Nile Inc noted a 10.1 percent increase in its net sales (on y-o-y basis) to $98.9 million, with net income valuing $2.9 million, reports say.

The company noted that the results fell in line with its strategy and that the rise in net sales was its sixth consecutive quarter of double digit growth, reports add.

U.S. engagement net sales rose 7.1 percent to $57.9 million, while U.S. non-engagement net sales rose 9.6 percent to $23.9 million. The international net sales rose around 23 percent to $17.1 million, while the same was up by 27.6 percent excluding the impact from changes in foreign exchange rates.

Gross profit was worth $18.7 million. As a percent of net sales, gross profit was 18.9 percent, while the same was 18.8 percent in the corresponding quarter of last year.
