A Hong-Kong invested jewellery zone is planned to be built in China’s Southwestern metropolis of Chongqing and is envisioned as the biggest such zone in China, reports say. The zone will occupy around 36 hectares, house over 300 jewellery brands and generate around $11.44 billion in annual trade value, reports say. This zone is being viewed to be the biggest centre for jewellery manufacturing and distribution in West China, offering a high potential for employment in thousands, reports add.

The jewellery zone is being built through a collaborative effort between Hong Kong trade associations and companies. The Hong Kong Jewellery Association and Hong Kong Gold jewellery Retailers’ Association are expected to inspire jewellery companies from Hong Kong and Kinyoon Holdings Group (HK) Ltd will finance the construction of the industrial zone, reports say.
