ICA lists speakers for Dubai congress

THE International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) announced the line-up of speakers and topics today for the upcoming ICA Congress in Dubai, being held from May 5 to 9, 2007 at the Al Murooj Rotana Suites & Hotel located in the business district.

The theme for the event will be Embracing Global Trends from Mine to Market. The line-up of speakers will address the market situation in Dubai and the region and provide an inside look at the region�s business environment, and ways of gaining access to it.

Speakers will include Ahmed bin Sulayem, the chief operating officer of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre; Tawhid Abdullah, chairman of the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group; Amit Dhamani, managing director of Dhamani Jewels; Laurent Grenier of Dubai Gem Certification and the Dubai Gems Club

Other industry leaders slated to speak at the event are Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, president of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO); William E. Boyajian, managing director, World Jewelry Center; Michael R. Haynes, chief executive officer of Collectors Universe; Martin Coeroli of Perles de Tahiti; and Toshio Takada of Takada Enterprise Co, Ltd. Speakers from laboratories such as EGL USA, American Gemological Laboratories, Inc (AGL), Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Gubelin Gemmological Lab Ltd are also expected.
