TanzaniteOne was selected by the Tanzanian government as the second overall winner of the 2012 Corporate Social Responsibility and Empowerment (CSRE) Awards. TanzaniteOne also won first rank in the category of water and empowerment programs, and the second in the educational program and employment program categories.

The CSRE Awards held annually by the Tanzanian government honour Tanzania-based companies for outstanding performances in community well-being and sustainability, human resource development and training, local procurement and industry participation, water and environment development programs, social welfare and infrastructure development, reports say.

The Awards were handed in Dar es Salaam, with guest of honor, Tanzanian President Jakaya M. Kikwete, giving the award to TanzaniteOne.
