Surat airport to be equipped with strongroom

The Surat airport is getting ready to be equipped with a strongroom, with which the diamond companies in the city don’t need to send their diamonds to Mumbai for exports, reports say. The strongroom is expected to be set up by end July reports add. Also, approvals from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) seem to be in place, reports say.

The strongroom will be operated at the airport by Surat Hira Bourse (SHB), the only custom clearance centre in Surat, reports add.
